§ The Prime MinisterThe Government continue to support the United Nations Secretary-General's initiative, which we believe offers the best hope for a just and lasting solution to the Cyprus dispute. We hope that the two sides will be able to resume negotiations in New York soon after elections in northern Cyprus on 12 December.
