Mr. Spearing

To ask the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster what is the estimated circulation of theOfficial Report in its daily, weekly and bound volume versions together with the retail cost of each at 1993 prices for each of the years 1963, 1973, 1983 and 1992; what proportion in each year were purchased for official purposes; and how many were sold to the public at the indicated prices.

As a result, HMSO has announced that the price of Hansard, and other routine—scale priced—parliamentary papers will not be increased during the life of the present Parliament.

The estimated average sales and the estimated proportions sold to official customers and others are as follows:

Figures for earlier years, and proportions of official sales and other sales in 1983, are not available.
