§ Mr. BurtThe National Federation of Housing Associations and the Institute of Housing have requested a meeting to discuss housing benefit, and my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State has already replied suggesting that I meet them on his behalf.

§ Mr. BurtMy right hon. Friend the Secretary of State has made clear his objectives for the review of social security expenditure. When proposals are brought forward in due course they will be subject to extensive debate in Parliament and elsewhere.
§ Ms CoffeyTo ask the Secretary of State for Social Security what was the total amount paid in housing benefit to housing association tenants in(a) 1990–91, (b) 1991–92 and (c) at the latest available date.
§ Mr. StrawTo ask the Secretary of State for Social Security if he will publish a table showing for each housing authority in England the amount of housing benefit paid and the number of recipients, for each financial year from 1982 to date, in respect of(a) rent rebates for local authority tenants, (b) rent allowances for private and housing association tenants and (c) occupants of hostels, with totals for England.
