HC Deb 05 November 1993 vol 231 cc575-6W
Mr. Michael

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department what is his estimate of the amount of police time that would be required to deal adequately with the information disclosed to(a) the Metropolitan police and (b) other police forces in England and Wales as a result of implementation in full of the Criminal Justice Act 1993; what additional resources in each case have been provided by his Department (i) in cash terms and (ii) in terms of establishment in the current year; and how much will be provided in 1994–95.

Mr. Charles Wardle

[holding answer 4 November 1993]: The new disclosure requirement has not been identified as a significant new burden at national level, although a working party is continuing to review the implications for the Metropolitan police.

No provision has been made for additional resources.
