1 Butter purchased by the Intervention Board and held in store until release is authorised by the EC Commission. 2 Butter in the ownership of public and private companies temporarily removed from the market under aided private storage contracts. 3 This includes 3,621 tonnes of butter made available for free distribution under the surplus food arrangements in 1992.
