Expenditure levels in future years are for local authorities to determine in the light of available resources. The forecasts shown in the Housing Corporation's published 1993 approved development programme for 1994–95 and 1995–96, expressed in 1992–93 prices, are £1,729 million and £1,588 million respectively. These figures exclude any private financed investment by housing associations.

§ Sir George Young[holding answer 2 November 1993]The main element of the Housing Corporation's expenditure is its approved development programme (ADP) which is funded by grant and loans from the Government, as well as the corporation's receipts. Gross capital expenditure on the ADP in England since 1985–86 has been as follows:
