§ Mr. AitkenMy right hon. and learned Friend the Secretary of State for Defence has received no such representations. Officials have received a small number of inquiries on this subject from the general public.
§ Mr. Llew SmithTo ask the Secretary of State for Defence if he will list the storage sites which have been authorised for storage or handling of his Department's raw stocks of depleted uranium prior to manufacture into ammunition.
§ Mr. AitkenDepleted uranium (DU) for the production of DU projectiles is procured direct by the manufacturers and handling and storage are a matter for them. The Defence Research Agency holds some stocks of raw DU at Fort Halstead for research purposes.
