§ Mr. Roger EvansTo ask the President of the Board of Trade, pursuant to his answer of 28 June,Official Report, column 371, whether Her Majesty's Government or the European Commission is now to take legal action against Germany for refusing to apply either article 29 of the utilities directive or the recent Council regulation implementing retaliatory sanctions against the United States of America in the field of Government procurement, in signing its recent treaty on telecommunications with the United States of America.
§ Mr. NeedhamI am not aware of the signing of any treaty of telecommunications between Germany and the United States of America. Government procurement is a matter for my right hon. Friend the Chief Secretary to the Treasury.
