HC Deb 03 November 1993 vol 231 c287W
Mr. Redmond

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence how many hours have been flown by Tornado GR1 serial number ZA611 since its accident on December 1986; and what was the cost of repairs to the aircraft following that accident.

Mr. Hanley

Since its repair, the aircraft has been placed in temporary storage as a medium-term reserve to cover future attrition within the operational fleet. The aircraft has only flown three hours since its accident. Costs of repair to RAF aircraft are commercial in confidence.

Mr. Redmond

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence what is the current requirement for operational low flying training by Royal Air Force Tornado F3 crews.

Mr. Hanley

There is no requirement.
