§ Mr. Redmond
To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, pursuant to his answer of 26 July,Official Report, column 749, what was the title of the research contract carried out for the RAF Institute of Aviation Medicine by a British university between 1985 and 1991; and if he will make a statement.

§ Mr. Hanley
The title of the contract was "Circadian rhythms during irregularities of work and rest". The object of the research was to determine the nature and the extent of changes in the amplitude and phase of the circadian rhythm that occur in response to the organisation of the sleep-wake cycle.
