§ Mr. RedmondTo ask the Secretary of State for Defence if he will make a statement on the outcome of the open skies agreement trial flight over the United Kingdom by a Russian aircraft in June.
§ Mr. HanleyA joint Russian/Belarussian inspection team arrived at RAF Brize Norton on 14 June this year to practise the provisions of the open skies treaty. The observation flight took place on 17 June from RAF 287W Leuchars and, although adverse weather conditions prevented the inspection team from photographing as many of the agreed United Kingdom sites as they had hoped, the exercise was considered a success. The inspection team returned to Russia on 19 June.
