HC Deb 03 November 1993 vol 231 c290W
Mr. Redmond

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence what powers he has to conduct an investigation into the accident involving two MiG-29 aircraft at RAF Fairford on 25 July.

Mr. Hanley

The accident involving two MiG-29 aircraft at RAF Fairford occurred on 24 July 1993 during the international air tattoo (IAT). An RAF board of inquiry was convened because the accident occurred on MoD property, at a flying display which was being conducted under military flying regulations. The investigation was held with the agreement of both the IAT management and the Russian authorities.
