§ Mr. SackvilleNational health service trusts, like other public sector bodies, follow agreed Government procedures for the disposal of surplus public land. They are required to consider with their professional advisors how to obtain the best return, which will normally be achieved through a sale of the freehold on the open market, with the benefit of planning permission where there is potential for development. The Department is preparing guidance for national health service trusts on property management which will include advice on disposals.
