To ask the Secretary of State for Defence what changes he proposes to the provisions in the Naval Forces (Enforcement of Maintenance Liabilities) Act 1947 relating to the limitations on authorisations of deduction of maintenance from an individual's pay to cases where the service person concerned has actually attended or been represented at the court hearing.

Such changes to the provisions of the Naval Forces (Enforcement of Maintenance Liabilities) Act 1947 as were deemed necessary were made in the Child Support Act 1991 (Consequential Amendments) Order 1993.
