§ Mr. Charles WardleI assume that my right hon. and learned Friend has in mind the meeting of the Schengen executive committee which was held in Paris on 18 October. The United Kingdom is not a signatory to the Schengen convention and was therefore not represented at the meeting. I understand that its main conclusion was that implementation of the convention should be postponed until 1 February 1994.
