Mr. Lennox-Boyd

Total FCO expenditure in 1992–93 —Diplomatic Wing plus ODA—was £3,302,729,000, of which BYC funding amounted to £42,000.

Mr. Hendry

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what was the level of grant-in-aid funded to the British Youth Council in real terms, for each year since 1987–88; and what plans he has for the future funding of the British Youth Council.

Mr. Lennox-Boyd

The FCO has notified the British Youth Council that its funding will be terminated from April 1994. However, the possibility of a limited amount of transitional funding for financial year 1994–95 only is currently under discussion.

Mr. Hendry

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what is the percentage change in the level of grant, in cash terms and in real terms, funded by his Department to the British Youth Council for each year from 1987–88 to 1994–95.

Mr. Don Foster

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what has been the level of grant-in-aid to the British Youth Council in each year since 1979; what plans he has for funding after the current financial year; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Lennox-Boyd

The information prior to 1986–87 could be provided only at disproportionate cost. Grant-in-aid levels post-1985–86 are:
