§ Mr. VazTo ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will make a statement on proposals to assist the creditors of(a) Mount bank and (b) Equatorial bank.
§ Mr. NelsonMount Banking Corporation and Equatorial bank are both in administration. A partial distribution has already been made to Mount's creditors and the administrators of both banks propose to make further distributions. The deposit protection fund has been activated in both cases and payments have begun to be made to depositors.
