Viscount St. DavidsIn cases where precise details of field areas are not shown on current maps, livestock farmers have been allowed to submit estimates for this year. These estimates could have been derived either from older maps of field areas or by having the area measured either by a professional surveyor or by the farmers themselves if they felt confident of being able to do so accurately. In such cases, farmers have been firmly advised to err on the side of caution, as over-declaration of areas would be liable to penalties.
