§ Mr. McLoughlinIn April 1993, the unadjusted level of claimant unemployment in the west midlands stood at 290,666, of whom 289,465 were aged 18 and over and 67,604 were women. The equivalent figures for Coventry local authority district were 20,846, 20,783, and 4,761 respectively.
