§ Mr. Nigel EvansTo ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food how many IACS forms his Department have returned to farmers because they were incorrectly completed; and how many completed IACS forms were returned to his Department as a percentage of those sent out.
§ Mr. CurryRegional service centres are now undertaking detailed checks of the IACS forms, but figures are not available on the number where further information may be required to determine eligibility for aid.
In order to ensure that every potential applicant received an information pack, my Department distributed IACS forms and explanatory booklets to all major and minor holdings on our records, comprising some 190,000 in England. We recognised that some of these would not be eligible but we were not willing to take the risk of missing any potential claimants. Of the forms distributed, 45 per cent. have been completed and returned.
Mr. lan BruceTo ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food how many IACS applications were received in the United Kingdom by 15 May.
§ Mr. GummerThe number of applications received in the United Kingdom by 15 May was 157,129.
