§ Dr. MawhinneyThe names of public appointments made by the Secretary of State to national health service authorities and trusts within the Mersey region are as listed. Information on appointees' qualifications is not available centrally. Individuals are appointed to NHS authorities and trusts for the personal qualities, knowledge and skills that they bring to the post. I refer the hon. Member to the reply I gave the hon. Member for Worsley (Mr. Lewis) on 5 May at column91 for the present remuneration rates.
