§ Mr. ForthMy right hon. Friend announced on 30 April that the present grading arrangements for GCSE will be retained for 1994 pending the outcome of the current review of the national curriculum and assessment by Sir Ron Dearing. Detailed information about this decision will be sent to schools by the School Examinations and Assessment Council on 24 May.
