Letter from J. Robinson to Rev. Martin Smyth, dated 20 May 1993:
326WI refer to your recent Parliamentary Question concerning the cost of compensation paid for loss of property in terrorist incidents. The Secretary of State has asked me to respond.
Compensation paid in the 1990–91, 1991–92 and 1992–93 financial years in respect of claims for damage to property caused by fire and explosion in terrorist incidents amounted to £19.37 million, £29.07 million and £64.1 million respectively. The figures do not include applicants' fees and costs.
I hope this is helpful.
