§ Mr. Barry JonesTo ask the Secretary of State for Wales what was the change in the level of unemployment between(a) February 1983 and February 1993 and (b) February 1984 and February 1993; and when he expects to make a statement on the new assisted area status map of Wales.
§ Mr. David HuntBetween February 1983 and February 1993, unemployment in Wales, adjusted for seasonal factors and discontinuities, fell by 19,900 to 132,100 a drop of 13.1 per cent. The decrease between February 1984 and February 1993 was 24,900, a drop of 15.9 per cent.
