§ Mr. CohenTo ask the Secretary of State for Transport to what investigations his Department has been subject by the Data Protection Registrar in relation to a suspected breach of a data protection principle; if he will summarise the nature of each complaint and state when the complaint was made; and what remedial action was taken by his Department to ensure future compliance with the principle subject to the investigation.
§ Mr. NorrisIn response to this question, my Department (including its agencies) has obtained information from the Office of the Data Protection Registrar as follows:
- a total of 40 complaints have been received.
- these complaints are categorised in the Annex according to the Principles set out in the Registrar's Guideline No. 4 booklet.
None has led to a request from the Registrar for any remedial action.
In the time available, the additional information requested could be provided only at disproportionate expense.
