Mr. Mudie

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department how the £1 million allocated to the police from the seized assets fund was spent.

Mr. Jack

The moneys allocated in 1992–93 to the central drugs fund from the seized assets fund were used to meet some of the additional costs of international drugs investigations by the police and HM Customs and Excise; and to make reward payments to individuals who had assisted the enforcement agencies in their investigations.
