§ Mr. LeighMy Department's Invest in Britain Bureau is aware of 139 research and development facilities set up by overseas-owned companies in the United Kingdom. This figure is based on information provided by the 225W companies at the time of the announcement to invest. There is no requirement to notify the Department and so the figure includes only those projects where the Department's Invest in Britain Bureau and its regional partners were involved or which have come to their notice. It takes no account of subsequent developments.
