To ask the Secretary of State for Defence what was the cost to the British Army of jungle training in(a) Belize and (b) Borneo in the last five years.

Costs of jungle training in Belize are not separately identifiable from the overall costs of the garrison without disproportionate cost. No jungle training takes place in Borneo, but the costs of jungle training in Brunei, not including travel, were £2,300,000 in 1989–90, £1,900,000 in 1990–91 and £2,300,000 in 1991–92.
