To ask the Secretary of State for Defence what plans he has to ensure that there are sufficient British contributions to future United Nations operations.

Our plans for current and future force levels take account of the requirement to respond to requests from the United Nations for military contributions to peacekeeping operations. We already provide over 3,500 troops for United Nations operations worldwide, making us the second largest troop contributor.
