§ Mr. CorbynTo ask the Secretary of State for Health how many health promotion staff were employed by each English and Welsh health authority in 1992–93 and what was the figure for 1982–83.
§ Dr. Mawhinney[holding answer 10 May 1993]: The latest information available will be placed in the Library.
154WThe figures relate only to those health promotion staff falling within administrative and clerical grades—there is no information available centrally on health promotion staff from other staff groups. Health promotion work is also undertaken by most national health service personnel at a local level, for example, general practitioners, dieticians, health visitors, and by non-NHS organisations including local authorities. In addition to health promotion staff employed in health authorities, staff are also employed in NHS trusts and other provider units.
Health promotion matters in Wales are a matter for my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Wales.
