To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many police authorities maintain vice squads; and, of these, how many have sections specialising in pornography.

Fourteen police forces have police officers who are exclusively deployed to vice-related duties. The remaining forces undertake this work as part of general operational duties. Information on how many forces have sections specialising in pornography is not centrally held.
