HC Deb 17 May 1993 vol 225 c33W
Mr. David Marshall

To ask the Secretary of State for Health how many representations he has received from deaf people about the unsuitability of the new public telephone booths; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Leigh

I have been asked to reply.

This Department has no record of recent representations along these lines. Condition 33 of BT's licence requires BT take all reasonable steps to install in all public call boxes apparatus enabling people using hearing aids designed for use in conjunction with telephones to do so.
