To ask the Secretary of State for Defence what agreements his Department has with Luchaire of France for provision of military equipment.

Mr. Aitken

The value of contracts placed with Luchaire Defence SA over the last three years is as follows:

  • 1992–93—nil
  • 1991–92—two contracts, total value £16,832.
  • 1990–91—five contracts, total value £2,738,356

The contracts were for a variety of grenades and associated items.
