Mr. Neil Hamilton

The deregulation task forces were launched on 19 March 1993.

Mr. Cousins

To ask the President of the Board of Trade if he will list the membership of each deregulation task force, and the approximate number of regulations allocated to each task force.

Mr. Neil Hamilton

A complete list of deregulation task force members has been placed in the Library. Each task force has been surveying the whole range of Government regulation as it applies to its sector.

Mr. Cousins

To ask the President of the Board of Trade if it will be open to deregulation task forces to propose extensions of existing legal provisions.

Mr. Neil Hamilton

The deregulation task forces are free to make any recommendations they wish, within their broad remit to advise Ministers on priorities for deregulation and on ensuring a continuing voice for business in the regulatory process.

Mr. Cousins

To ask the President of the Board of Trade if it is his intention to publish the reports of the deregulation task forces.

Mr. Neil Hamilton

The deregulation task forces will not be producing formal reports. They will be giving advice to Ministers which will feed into the public debate on deregulation.
