HC Deb 13 May 1993 vol 224 cc572-3W
Mr. Charles Kennedy

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence what is the policy of his Department in respect of the proposed design and height of the Skye bridge, with particular reference to any emergency defence planning provisions which may arise involving the passage under the bridge of the largest naval vessels; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Archie Hamilton

The Ministry of Defence has been fully consulted over the specifications for the Skye bridge and is content that the design and height of the bridge is consistent with defence requirements for passage of the Kyle of Lochalsh.
