HC Deb 13 May 1993 vol 224 c534W
Mr. Simpson

To ask the President of the Board of Trade if he will make a statement on the role of the BNFL office in South Korea; and what reassessment has been undertaken of its role in the context of discussions on the nuclear non-proliferation treaty.

Mr. Eggar

[holding answer 5 May 1993]: It is for BNFL to decide on its commercial representation overseas. The Republic of Korea is a state party to the nuclear non-proliferation treaty and has concluded a safeguards agreement with the International Atomic Energy Agency. Any business undertaken by BNFL will take place in accordance with the United Kingdom's obligations under the treaty.
