§ Mr. DarlingTo ask the President of the Board of Trade how many bids were received in respect of the 14th round of oil and gas licences applications; and of these how many are subject to contracts between the operator and his Department.
§ Mr. Eggar[holding answer 10 May 1993]: A total of 97 applications were received in respect of blocks offered in the 14th offshore oil and gas licensing round. Licences have been awarded for three of these applications. Work obligations were attached to all of these licences. Other awards under the 14th round are expected to be announced at the end of this month.
