To ask the Secretary of State for Education what further plans he has to meet organisations representing teachers to discuss the implementation of the national curriculum.

None. Teacher associations should make their views known to Sir Ron Dearing, the chairman-designate of the School Curriculum and Assessment Authority, who is conducting a review of the national curriculum and assessment.

To ask the Secretary of State for Education when he next expects to meet representatives of the Professional Association of Teachers to discuss the national curriculum.

My right hon. Friend has no plans for such a meeting. The Professional Association of Teachers has been invited to make its views known to Sir Ron Dearing, the chairman designate of the School Curriculum and Assessment Authority, who is conducting a review of the national curriculum and assessment.
