§ Mr. Heseltine[holding answer 22 April 1993]: The prospects for privatising the agencies in my Department are kept continually under review. Since it was established in 1990 as an executive agency the National Engineering Laboratory has been working towards full commercial viability with a view to privatisation: it continues to work towards that objective. I announced a specific review of Companies House in July 1992, which is continuing. I have just announced a study on the long term future of the DTI laboratories: I refer the hon.
