§ Mr. HanleySince 1986 the British Council, with financial support from the Department of Education for Northern Ireland, has operated an annual programme of cultural events, study hours and exhibitions designed to raise the profile of Northern Ireland in the United States. In 1992–93, this was complemented by a similar programme in Europe.
