Whether in the light of (a) the recent IRA bomb in the City of London, and (b) the advice given recently by the City of London Police to the Department of Health regarding the inadvisability of tampering with the casualty services provided by St. Bartholomew's Hospital, a fresh look will now be taken at the department's plans affecting that hospital's future role.
§ Baroness CumberlegeNorth East Thames Regional Health Authority is appraising the options for the future of St. Bartholomew's Hospital and will be taking account of the outcome of current consultations on accident and emergency services. Advice received by the Department of Health on these matters will, where appropriate, be sent on to the region for their consideration.
