§ Mr. Peter LloydTwo per cent. of life licensees released between 1972 and 1988 were convicted of a "grave" offence—violent crime—within two years of discharge and 4 per cent. of those persons released between 1972 and 1985 were reconvicted within five years. The figures for a "standard list" offence—indictable plus certain summary offences—were 10 and 21 per cent respectively.
