§ Mr. Gwilym JonesThe Secretary of State for Health considers applications from companies to add products to part IX of the drug tariff so that they can be prescribed to patients under the NHS. Products are added to the tariff if they are considered to be safe, cost-effective and of acceptable quality and subject to the availability of resources within the family health services.
