HC Deb 05 May 1993 vol 224 cc136-7W
Miss Lestor

To ask the Parliamentary Secretary, Lord Chancellor's Department how many children were brought before juvenile courts in each of the last five years; and how many of them had school reports submitted on their behalf.

Mr. Jack

I have been asked to reply.

Information on juveniles aged 10 and under 17 proceeded against at magistrates courts is published annually in "Criminal Statistics, England and Wales". Table 6.1 refers. The latest available figures are for 1991; 1992 figures will be available in the autumn.

Information on the number of school reports submitted to youth courts is not collected centrally.
