HL Deb 04 May 1993 vol 545 c28WA
Lord Ashley of Stoke

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they will provide supra regional funding for all specialist psychiatric services for profoundly deaf people.

The Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, Department of Health (Baroness Cumberlege)

No. The Government receive advice on the designation of supra regional services from the Supra Regional Services Advisory Group (SRSAG). My right honourable friend the Secretary of State for Health accepted last year, the advice of the SRSAG, that interim supra regional support of the psychiatric services for deaf people should end on 31st March 1994.
