§ Small research grants are occasionally made available to provide feedback and data on aspects of grant policy which would be difficult or impossible to determine by other methods. In 1992–93, two grants were made available, to investigate the role of training in the development of TMOs (Glasgow university) and to ascertain the impact of the two-year recommendation 9 programme (LSE).
