To ask the President of the Board of Trade if he will give details of the reasons why it is not practicable to supply full design information questionnaires on nuclear installations for the purpose of safeguards as stated in departmental memorandum EC/4140/93 on SEC(92)2360, at paragraph 5.1, dated 5 March.

Much of the safeguards design information, which the present amendment envisages operators providing for new nuclear installations under the proposed new article 2 to the Regulation (Euratom) 3227/76, may not be available nine months before commencement of construction of an installation.
