§ Lord James Douglas-Hamilton[holding answer 25 March 1993]: Marine safety is the responsibility of my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Transport. The incident is the subject of investigations being carried out by the Department of Transport's marine accident investigation branch and the Health and Safety Executive. The Scottish Office is not carrying out any separate investigation but close contact is being maintained with the Department of Transport.
