HC Deb 29 March 1993 vol 222 c93W
Mr. David Porter

To ask the Secretary of State for Employment how many pilot workstart schemes for employers to create jobs for long-term unemployed she expects to set up in East Anglia; and if she will make a statement.

Mr. McLoughlin

My right hon. Friend the Secretary of State announced on 23 March that workstart pilots will be run by Tyneside and Devon and Cornwall TECs, and by the Employment Service in east Kent and in south and south-west London. We also recently announced a pilot community work scheme. It will be run in north Norfolk and will get under way shortly.
