HC Deb 29 March 1993 vol 222 c32W
Mr. Redmond

To ask the Secretary of State for Health if the conclusion published in 1992 in her Department's "Health Trends" that waiting time of up to six months was acceptable for surgical treatment of angina remains Government policy; and if she will make a statement.

Mr. Sackville

The Department's policy is that provision of cardiac services is the responsibility of health authorities taking account of local health needs and it is the responsibility of clinicians to determine the priority of treatment for patients in their care. Articles in "Health Trends" represent the opinions of the authors and not necessarily those of the Department.
